Dos Medical regular nasal saline

Dos Medical nasal saline premixed sachets are specifically composed for the rinsing of the vulnerable and sensitive nasal mucosa. It's a mixture of sodium chloride (salt) and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), which in studies has shown greater improvement in symptoms than salt water alone. Only containing natural ingredients and no preservatives, Dos Medical nasal saline is iodine free.

Dissolving one sachet in 250ml (one full NasoFree® nasal irrigator bottle) of lukewarm water makes an isotonic saline.

Dos Medical nasal saline with xylitol

Dos Medical nasal saline with xylitol has been developed with ENT specialists for people with chronic sinus inflammation (chronic rhinosinusitis).

In chronic sinusitis, bacteria are often partially responsible for producing a mucus layer (also called a biofilm). This layer helps bacteria to better attach themselves to tissue and protects bacteria against immune responses and antibiotics.

Scientific research has shown that xylitol breaks down the biofilm and that clearing the paranasal sinuses with a combination of xylitol and nasal saline in people with chronic sinus infection gives a better result than with a regular saline solution. Xylitol is a naturally occurring antibacterial agent that is for example found in pumpkins. It's also used in many sugar-free chewing gums.

The premixed sachets are specifically composed for the rinsing of the vulnerable and sensitive nasal mucosa. It is a mixture of sodium chloride (salt) and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) with added xylitol. Only containing natural ingredients and no preservatives, Dos Medical nasal saline with xylitol is iodine free. It's effective and milder than a table salt solution with the added benefit of xylitol.

Always use an isotonic saline solution for nasal irrigation. Isotonic means that the saline solution has the same concentration as your body fluids. Dissolve one sachet of Dos Medical nasal saline in 250 ml lukewarm water to make an isotonic concentration. This is also the exact volume of the NasoFree® nasal irrigator, an easy squeeze bottle system that makes rinsing your nasal and paranasal sinus cavities efficient and easy.

Nasal irrigation helps to clear the nose of mucus and may also help to reduce inflammation. It helps the nose to remove small particles such as pollen, bacteria and viruses, which can cause allergy and inflammation.

Nasal irrigation can be used for:

  • Helping relieve nasal symptoms from airway allergies such as those caused by pollen, pet dander or house dust mites
  • Clearing nasal congestion from common cold and other upper respiratory tract infections
  • Acute and chronic sinusitis
  • Recovery after nasal and sinus surgery
  • Snoring as a result of reduced flow in the nasal respiratory system
  • Or just for cleaning the nasal passages from dust and pollution

Dosage

Nasal irrigation can be done as needed. Usually 1-3 times a day. Daily rinsing is well tolerated and will keep your nasal passages clean and open. However, always follow your doctor's advice.
