The harsh chemicals in some skincare products can be irritating for sensitive skin. Our mild, unscented face cream is made from shea butter and other plant-based ingredients that help skin retain moisture and elasticity. Fast penetrating. Use morning and night, after cleansing with our gentle face wash.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: A mixed ester composed of caprylic and capric fatty acids attached to a glycerin backbone. It is prepared from the fatty acids in coconut oil, and provides a good feeling to the skin.
Glycerin: In cosmetic products glycerin is used as a moisturizing agent due to its water-attracting properties. It makes skin feel smooth. Our glycerin is derived from vegetable fats and oils.
Dicaprylyl carbonate: Functions as a skin-conditioning agent, emollient and solvent. Has a high spreadability and leaves a velvety feel on the skin without being greasy.
Cetearyl Olivate: Emulsifier that is composed of cetearyl alchol and fatty acids derived from olive oil. Helps soften the skin and provides a smooth feel.
Sorbitan Olivate: A mild emulsifier that is produced by reacting sorbitol with olive oil-derived fatty acids.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter: Shea Butter has smoothing properties and preserves the innate moisture of the skin. It is used to improve formulation texture. It is a semi-solid, butter-like vegetable fat, and the concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing. It prevents dryness, and results in a softened skin.
Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer: Synthetic polymer and film-forming agent that also serves to thicken cosmetic formulations. It has stabilizing abilities and leaves the formulation with an esthetically pleasing feel.
Phenoxyethanol: Preservative that is considered one of the least sensitizing for use in cosmetic formulations.
Benzoic acid: Weak organic acid that is part of a mild preservative system consisting of: Phenoxyethanol, Dehydroacetic Acid and Benzoic Acid.
Dehydroacetic acid: Weak organic acid that is part of a mild preservative system consisting of: Phenoxyethanol, Dehydroacetic Acid and Benzoic Acid.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E): A natural antioxidant that protects the product against oxidation. Derived from vegetable oils.
Cetyl Palmitate: A fatty acid ester that is made from raw plant materials. It is used to provide texture and it has re-fattening properties. Part of the emulsifier system.
Sorbitan Palmitate: An ester with emulsifying capabilities that is produced by reacting sorbitol with vegetable-oil derived fatty acids. Enhances the formulation's texture and sensory profile.
Saccharide isomerate: Carbohydrate complex that resembles a carbohydrate complex found in human stratum corneum. Good water-binding agent and emollient for the skin, and particularly helpful for dry skin.
Citric acid: Citric acid is a weak organic acid that is used in low concentrations to regulate/stabilize the pH-value.
Sodium citrate: Sodium citrate is the sodium salt of citric acid. It is used in low concentrations to regulate/stabilize the pH-value.
Sodium Hydroxide (lye): Highly alkaline ingredient used in small amounts in formulations to regulate/stabilize the pH.
